DEVELOPMENT OF TOOLS TO MONITOR VIRAL PROCESSES

Since the biochemical interactions of any virus with its host cell are dynamic, we are developing tools that permit us to follow viral processes, preferably in single living cells in real time. Our efforts currently focus on tools to permit fluorescence imaging of

(1) DENV RNA replication and localization and

(2) NS3-NS2B protease expression and enzyme activity.
