We are a group of virologists and chemical biologists interested in understanding, at the molecular level, how viruses use the host cellular machinery to replicate themselves; how the interaction between virus and host leads to disease; and how the host successfully (or unsuccessfully) combats the viral infection.
Our interdisciplinary group focuses on viruses that are significant human pathogens: hepatitis B virus, hepatitis C virus, and dengue virus. We employ techniques drawn from modern chemical biology and bio-organic chemistry, virology, molecular biology, and biochemistry.
The Yang Lab will be moving to join the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at Stanford Medical School in Spring/Summer 2021. Candidates who are willing to make the move with us are encouraged to apply.
